(by Dawn Reed) You know, when I saw that movie Flashdance back in the day, I never imagined the iconic theme "Maniac" would get revamped into a mash-up of scrolling videogame awesomeness and electric violin. That's exactly what Montreal based rock violinist Eric Speed has done though, in this crazy fun for the eyeballs video that makes me want to scrounge eBay for a working NES with Legend of Zelda combo pack... Anyway- Eric Speed (stagename) first got into the violin at age 3, and honed his talent from there on out until he joined the Montreal Conservatory. In 2008, he released Eric Éponyme Speed, and in 2010 he released his second album Starland. This track is now available on US iTunes.
