So you've opted for your phone, oh ok- welcome to Scene Trek. Fuckity fuck fuck! It's been four years since the duo put out their 2nd LP Tarot Sport, and now they are back on the world-wide road touring for their 3rd release Slow Focus.  This comes after their huge accomplishment of working with Danny Boyle and his epic opening ceremony for the 2012 Olympic's that took place in UK.  Thanks to the rec from Underworld, the infamous house gods who've also worked with Boyle in the soundtrack arena.

Fuck Buttons is going to be at DC's U Street Music Hall on 10/17, and we've teamed up with them to get one lucky Scene Trekker two guest list spots!  All you have to do is email us by 3 PM on 10/16 and tell about your favorite Fuck Buttons track or music video.  Please include your first and last name for guest list requirements. With the initial love of clubs and making people dance, this boy grew up perfecting his craft around France at established discotheques. Ten years later, a chance meeting with the co-owner at his first place of employment occured, and thus crowned him resident DJ of Hôtel Costes.  That man of course, Stephane Pompougnac, the renowned Prince of Lounge, has a ridiculous discography including 5 platinum albums, 14 gold albums, and 5,000,000 album sales worldwide.  And now he returns to the US to do what he does best, DJ.

The 9:30 Club in DC wants to make sure one lucky Scene Trekker gets in to this chill party taking place Aug 31, so we've teamed up with them to give out a couple guest list spots!  All you have to do is email us by 5 PM on 8/29 and let us know what Pompougnac track gets your groove going. If you are browsing this tucked away blog and don't know who New Order is, then you are clearly a spammer without a brain.  But for all the other legit humans that found this post via social networks- you've come to the right place.  New Order is back on tour, how fucking cool is that!? This year alone, we were astounded with New Order and Joy Division's presence on Record Store Day via the amazing compilation Factory Records Communications 1978-92, another round of Peter Hook & the Light will return to the US in September, but right now New Order returns to the world touring the festival circuit as well stand alone performances (featuring guest opener Holy Ghost!.)  

They will be back in the DC area on 7/28 and thanks to Merriweather Post Pavillion, we have a couple lawn passes to hand over to one lucky Scene Trekker!

Holy vaseline & tangerines! Today, Flaming Lips announced to world they will be touring soon for their latest release The Terror. And moments ago, Merriweather Post Pavillion has announced that the Flaming Lips will be gracing the DMV area with their awesome presence on October 4th (joined by Tame Impala and The Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger!) And if you haven't seen the Flaming Lips live, then you really haven't experienced what live performances should always be: fun, crowd involved, and fucking memorable.  Whether it's Wayne rolling on top of you in a bubble, indie celebs and randomly selected fans dancing on stage whilst hiding in giant bear suits, or you playing parachute (see video below,) in someway, if you are at a Flaming Lips show, you are a part of it!  

Tickets do not go on sale until 6/28 for the MPP show, so you can wait til Friday and buy them here.  Or, you can try and score the free passes we have to give away right now!
