If you tried clicking on this link while at work, you probably dealt with a firewall which persistently happened to me everytime I tried googling/binging UK's electronic act Fuck Buttons. So you've opted for your phone, oh ok- welcome to Scene Trek. Fuckity fuck fuck! It's been four years since the duo put out their 2nd LP Tarot Sport, and now they are back on the world-wide road touring for their 3rd release Slow Focus.  This comes after their huge accomplishment of working with Danny Boyle and his epic opening ceremony for the 2012 Olympic's that took place in UK.  Thanks to the rec from Underworld, the infamous house gods who've also worked with Boyle in the soundtrack arena.

Fuck Buttons is going to be at DC's U Street Music Hall on 10/17, and we've teamed up with them to get one lucky Scene Trekker two guest list spots!  All you have to do is email us by 3 PM on 10/16 and tell about your favorite Fuck Buttons track or music video.  Please include your first and last name for guest list requirements. The winner will be emailed back. You can still get tickets to this show here.

Video of the Week: Delorean "Destitute Time"

10/11/2013

(by Dawn Reed) Despite the recent insanely horrible news of the kidnapping of Delorean in Mexico last week, the Spanish dance pop band is trekking on in their North American tour for their recent release Apar.  There is enough coverage out there on that incident, and we are here to keep their music at the forefront. We love you Delorean, and are glad you are safe!  Now check out this video for the amazing track "Destitute Time" (an ironic pair of words to go along with the aftermath.)  The future retro beat is layered throughout, while images of a couple in a love/hate relationship progress to a hate/love end.

(by Dawn Reed) Once upon a time, a young Parisian boy got his first job as a waiter at a little cafe in a little establishment known as Hôtel Costes. With the initial love of clubs and making people dance, this boy grew up perfecting his craft around France at established discotheques. Ten years later, a chance meeting with the co-owner at his first place of employment occured, and thus crowned him resident DJ of Hôtel Costes.  That man of course, Stephane Pompougnac, the renowned Prince of Lounge, has a ridiculous discography including 5 platinum albums, 14 gold albums, and 5,000,000 album sales worldwide.  And now he returns to the US to do what he does best, DJ.

The 9:30 Club in DC wants to make sure one lucky Scene Trekker gets in to this chill party taking place Aug 31, so we've teamed up with them to give out a couple guest list spots!  All you have to do is email us by 5 PM on 8/29 and let us know what Pompougnac track gets your groove going. Please include your first and last name for guest list requirements. The winner will be emailed back. Tickets to this gig are still available here.
